Stakeholders' event on the review of the Energy Efficiency Directive and the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive

Date:
Monday, 14 March, 2016 -
10:00 to 17:00

Location: Brussels

As foreseen in the Energy Union Strategy adopted on 25 February 2015, the Commission has launched the Review of Directive 2012/27/EU on Energy Efficiency (EED) and the Review of Directive 2010/31/EU on Energy Performance on Buildings (EPBD).

Both reviews are foreseen for adoption before the end of 2016.

These review processes are supported by comprehensive stakeholder consultations, including internet-based public consultations to reach out to the wide range of stakeholders.

As the Commission services are finalising the evaluation for both the EED and the EPBD, and as the work on the impact assessments is advancing, this is the right time to seek further views from the stakeholders affected by – and interested in – these policies.

To discuss the findings of these evaluations and possible options and ways forward for the EED and the EPBD, the Commission services will hold a high-level stakeholder event on 14 March 2016 (10:00 – 17:00) in Brussels.

The meeting will be opened by Mr Dominique Ristori, Director General for Energy.

The event will be organised in two sessions to devote sufficient time to discuss each initiative separately:

Morning session (10:00 – 13:00): The EED Review;
Afternoon session: (14:00 – 17:00): The EPBD Review.

For security and organisational reasons please indicate that you wish to attend by sending an e-mail to ENER-EPBD-EED-STAKEHOLDER-MEETING@ec.europa.eu by 17 February 2016.
