The European Parliament ITRE Committee Chairman Buzek and European Commissioner for Climate Action and Energy Miguel Arias Cañete are pleased to announce, on behalf of the European Parliament and European Commission, a high level conference in Brussels on 7 November to address financing clean energy for all Europeans.
The event will be opened by European Parliament President Antonio Tajani, European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker (tbc), the Estonian Council Presidency (tbc) and European Investment Bank President Werner Hoyer, and involve the active participation of European Commission Vice-Presidents Maroš Šefčovič and Jyrki Katainen, MEPs, senior representatives from the Covenant of Mayors, and other stakeholders.
Aimed at policy makers, the investor community, energy market participants and other stakeholders, the conference will review the Clean Energy Package, focusing discussion on three investment areas of the energy transition: ways of supporting the shift to clean and efficient energy at a local level, investing in large-scale energy projects, including cross-border transmission infrastructure, and renewable electricity generation infrastructure.
