Buildings account for 40 % of total energy consumption in the European Union. Meeting EU’s 20% energy efficiency target for 2020 and 27% target for 2030 requires raising the current level of investments in this sector. Covenant Signatories, Coordinators and Local and Regional Energy Agencies have been developing innovative financing models in order to meet the financial needs. These new mechanisms include partnerships with their local and regional partners, banks, private companies and civil society.
This webinar will present experiences from three innovative projects (Ireland, Italy and France) and provide insight into the challenges and opportunities of using Third Party Financing schemes, Third Party Investment schemes and Energy Performance Contracting. Finally, it will also provide more insight into how a one stop shop works, demonstrating an efficient method of financing.
